What is half hourly billing?

Half hourly (HH) metering gives you accurate information about how much energy you're using, and is mandatory for the small amount of businesses with a supply greater than 100kW. HH metering is also being introduced to supplies having a profile of 05 - 08 under the P272 Regulations.

With a HH meter, your actual consumption is recorded every half hour, and this is used by the energy supplier for your energy billing.

HH meters are linked to a communications device that allows the data to be accessed remotely. By using this data in conjunction with monitoring and targeting software, you could identify ways of making significant energy savings and carbon reductions.

If you have a HH meter it’s mandatory to appoint a Meter Operator (MOP) and Data Collector (DC) for your site. We can arrange both of these for you as part of our complete service.

What is a HH Meter Operator?

A HH Meter Operator is responsible for installing and maintaining metering and communications equipment, and provides the technical meter details to the Data Collector to enable collection of consumption data.

What is a HH Data Collector?

A HH Data Collector is responsible for collecting HH consumption data from the meter. This data is then validated and passed to your chosen supplier for invoicing.
